Gorky Park

Future Gorky Park appeared on the map of Kharkov as a country Nikolaevsky Park in 1893, when the first trees were planted. As the park it was opened 14 years later, when the trees planted by high-school students have grown. Composition of the park was copied from the Bois de Boulogne: united in an elongated ring Chestnut and Linden avenues (also known as Cartwright) were intended for riding. Afterwards, the park was the first in the city place with amusement park, here was found the Ferris wheel, and a little later came the lift.
Today in the park goes large-scale reconstruction under which the park will have new amusements, as well as the largest Ferris wheel in the Ukraine with a diameter of 55 meters.
