The Memorial to victims of the Holodomor is located at the exit from town, on traffic junction between Bilgorodske road and ring road. It was created by decree of the former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, who is one of the most ardent fighters for the recognition of Holodomor as genocide of Ukrainian nation. The Memorial was built in order to restore balance and historical memory of the past years and the crimes committed.
