Opening of the “Accumulator” festival

Festival of ecological urbanism “Accumulator” was first held in Kharkiv in August last year.
The main idea of the festival was using contemporary art to start a discussion on the problems of the city – its development, its decline, its prospects. Artists, writers and musicians from different cities of Ukraine and Poland discussed the problems of ecology and preservation of historical monuments, architecture, and the integration of the urban landscape in the art space.
Most of the problems voiced at the first festival, in particular the problem of preservation of old buildings, felling of green space in general – problems harmonious development of the urban environment, unfortunately, continue to remain in Kharkiv more urgent, demanding our immediate participation and solidarity. The organizers have decided to continue their initiative and this year. However, the current “Battery” will be different from last year’s campaign. First of all – the format of. This year, the organizing committee decided to hold the festival action for a month. Therefore, in October expects an extremely interesting and rich program. In particular, the festival will be a concert dedicated to the protection of animals, a series of art exhibitions in the shop windows, urban cycling adventure, a series of lectures on environmental issues, a series of urban performances from Roman Minin and groups «SVITER», a presentation of the new album and Sergei Zhadan group “Sobaki v Kosmose” and many other actions.
