Kharkov marine museum – a phenomenon in our non-marine territories rather surprising, the more it’s story is surprising – it was opened in 2009 Kharkiv by Alexander Yakimenko on the basis his private collection. Yakimenko is founder, director and Hoster of the room, gathered his collection for several decades. In the museum collection are Navigation devices, facsimile maps, engravings, and documents. There are even unique documents from the archives of the Royal Society of Great Britain. The museum director himself guides a tour, lasting hour and a half, allowing visitors to touch the artifacts, except for models of ships.
