Kharkov Philharmonia, founded in 1929, is one of the oldest concert organizations in Ukraine. In Philharmonic Hall there were Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Fyodor Chaliapin and many other outstanding people of art. Here in 1896 a famous photographer Alfred Fedetskiy held the first cinema show in the Ukraine, from here in 1929 went on air the first Ukrainian radio station.
Today in walls of the Philharmonic Hall hosts concerts for every taste: you can listen to a great symphony orchestra, chamber choir, organ music and jazz. Are frequent chamber music evenings with unique instruments (Stradivari, Guarneri, Amati).
For young people there are cycles of musical and educational concerts, “Music by Candlelight” and “Music and Painting”, here you can not only listen to music, but also to learn a lot about life and work of composers, the close interweaving of sound and color at different epochs, to see with your own eyes -about what written in their works the great composers.
There are concerts and for the youngest listeners each month are musical stories for children, concerts of organ music for children and parents.
Continues to develop the “Mozart Effect” project, which is a series of concerts for future mothers and children.
