This sign was installed in the Garden of Shevchenko in 1997 in memory of folk musicians, representatives of the era of Renaissance Executed – kobza, bandura and lyre players killed by the Soviet authorities primarily in the 1930s. Appearing of the monument was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Gnat Khotkevych, the founder of Kharkiv bandura school, Bandura, Kobza, Lira – Ukrainian folk stringed instruments, their owners, mostly blind, wandered through the country, singing and talking to the accompaniment of instruments folk epics, poems, news.
