A series of monuments dedicated to heroes of the works of writers Ilya Ilf and Yevgeny “Petrov” Kataev, consists of four figures representing heroes of comic novel “The Twelve Chairs” – Ostap Bender, Kisa Vorobyaninov, Ellochka The Ogress and father Fyodor.

The monument to the Father Fyodor is set to the 1st platform of Kharkiv Railway Station. The idea of creating a monument arose in connection with a quote from the book, in which the father tells his wife of Theodore, that “Kharkiv – the city, bustling center of the Ukrainian Republic, after the province seems I’m abroad”

Monuments of the grand strategist Ostap Bender and his companion Kisa Vorobyaninov, as well as silly, but a beautiful Ellochka The Ogress were installed on the Petrovskogo street near the Cafe Rio, sponsored by the owner of café – Azan Ahmediev.
The prototypes of all figures are actors played roles in the films “12 chairs” released in 1971 and ’76.
